Our Story

Limping Fox Pub Sign crop.jpg

The Limping Fox opened its doors in July 2017. A family run business, set up following the success of our first award-winning pub; The Victoria Park in Bristol. A labour of love to provide the perfect environment to enjoy a delicious meal, have drinks with friends or spend an afternoon with the whole family in our south-facing garden.

Our attitude has never changed; to serve high quality wines, a vast range of premium spirits, craft beers and local ales at affordable prices. The menu revolves around the best ingredients we can find, lovingly prepared and crafted into unique and delicious dishes.

We have received great reviews and have also won the Best British Roast Dinner for the south of England, which has encouraged us to constantly move with the times and aim to be one of the best pubs in the area.

We hope to see you for a pint very soon!    Luke & Heloise.

Art Exhibitions at The Limping Fox

At The limping Fox we love to showcase the work of local artists. Currently we are exhibiting work from a fantastic local artist Gisella Stapleton.

Peruvian Artist and Muralist Gisella Stapleton explore themes surrounding elements of nature, women and empowerment and self love and moments of relaxation. To allow her to express her subject she uses different materials ranging from recycled fabrics, linen to handmade recycled paper and mediums such as oils, acrylics, gouache and hand embroidery.
The colors and patterns seen in Latin America and nature itself are the most natural visual language to express the themes of Gisella's work  where elements of popular art, everyday life scenes, feelings and dreams are mixed with realism and abstraction to produce her style.

Gisella Stapleton is based in Thames Ditton, Surrey

To know more about her visit her website wwwgisellastapleton.com and her Instagram @gisella_stapleton

“SUNDAY ROAST AT THE LIMPING FOX”

I have literally just had the best roast dinner I’ve ever had in my life, I had the pork belly & my friends had other roasts & they thought the same. The atmosphere was lovely & they are dog friendly too. All in all 10 out of 10 experience!

“AMAZING TAPAS STYLE SHARING PLATES”

We had an impromptu child free dinner at the Fox last week. The sharing plates were absolutely delicious. The arancini with a kale and cashew pesto was to die for. Highly recommended a quiet midweek date night with sharing plates.

“SUNDAY LUNCH”

Popped in for Sunday lunch and all I can say is wow! Great food and great service. Lovely ambiance and background music spot on. Will definitely be coming back. The only strange thing is that there’s no booking facilities on the website and no out of hours answer machine on the phone number provided. However, when we did get through, the staff were lovely and very helpful.

“BEST BEER SELECTION AND ALL ROUND GREAT PUB”

“This is by far the best beer selection of all the pubs in the local area. On arriving today I saw two favourites, Soundwave and Gamma Ray side by side - beer heaven. Their session offerings Easy Livin’ and Neck Oil don’t come much better and Paulaner is a great lager too.

Aside from that, the food is very good, definitely recommend the burger, and great people running the pub too.

An all round excellent pub.”

“THE BEST PUB IN THE AREA BY A LONG WAY”

“A Family friendly pub with a ggreat garden so all the family are welcome including the four-legged ones.

The selection of beer is varied and excellent with smaller breweries featuring heavily on the selection. The menu is great and they serve some of the best pub food I have had in a long time. I would like to heavily recommend the Rhubarb Eton Mess desert as it is heavenly.

It is now getting so popular that booking a table is almost essential which speaks volumes for the quality of the food, the service and value for money.”

“DELICIOUS DINNER!”

“Yum! Had such an amazing dinner here. The cauliflower tacos and seafood mix were both divine, as was the rhubarb Eaton mess! Lovely service as always. A favourite local :)”

“SIMPLY WONDERFUL”

“I have visited The limping Fox twice in the last couple of months, once with family and friends for Sunday lunch and then just with my family.
On both occasions we have received a warm, friendly welcome by the owners and their lovely little dog.
The food on both visits was delicious and the portion size was generous, i can highly recommend the Sunday roast and the Dirty Fries - guilty indulgence!
My children really enjoyed the climbing frame/slide and pottering about in the garden after demolishing a generous children's roast.
The pub has a modern, clean, fresh feel and we will certainly visit again very soon.”

”FRIENDLY LOCAL”
A friendly local pub with an impressive gin selection and good choice of craft beers on tap. Food is also very good.”

"ABSOLUTE GEM AND EXACTLY WHAT THE LOCAL AREA NEEDS"

“In the three short weeks since this pub opened I have been three times and have recommended it to all my local friends. This is how you open a pub and impress a local crowd.

The food is delicious, well cooked and looks stunning. The children's menu also doesn't break the bank. The selection of drinks is plentiful and of good quality and the service is friendly and efficient. Given the staff are all new and you expect there to be teething problems in a new establishment, I have not experienced any on my visits.
The design inside is welcoming and I like the added touch of being able to purchase the prints.

If there was any constructive feedback, I would suggest adding a couple of Wendy houses in the garden (if there is a desire to attract parents with younger children) as the climbing frame is quite high.
Keep up the good work, and I look forward to my future visits.”
